Co-Scholastic Activities

To develop self confidence and self esteem among the students, co-curricular activities should be encouraged and every child must be motivated to participate in them. So, a wide spectrum of activities ranging from yoga, chess, quiz, public speaking, music, dance and several others are offered in the school. Regular inter-house competitions, debates and elocutions are organized to provide ample opportunities to the students to nurture their inborn talents.

Sports

Bridgeford School offers diverse sports facilities, including outdoor games like basketball and football, indoor games like chess and table tennis, and after-school coaching by qualified trainers.

The school follows an integrated curriculum wherein theoretical knowledge and practical understanding go hand in hand during the journey of learning. Subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science as well as General Knowledge are first taught through the text books and thereafter practical training is imparted in the relevant subject laboratories through modern teaching aids, audio visual screenings as well as smart classes with a view to create a meaningful impression in the young minds of the students.

Pre-primary curricullum

The pre-primary curriculum inculcates in children the qualities of curiosity, exploration and discovery in a fun-filled, safe and happy learning environment. An individualised approach helps nurture a love of learning; develop social skills, and instil moral values. The emphasis is on developing in students, an intrinsic curiosity, self-confidence and the ability to effectively communicate in English; teachers ensure this through effective use of language and by encouraging children to express themselves freely.


The pre-primary curriculum makes use of a range of individual and group activities which create a lively and positive learning environment. Games, songs, creative projects, story-telling, role-playing, drawing and painting help develop children’s foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. Sports and interactions with sports teachers help in strengthening coordination and motor skills, and instill enthusiasm for sports. Picnics and field trips enhance students’ understanding of their surroundings. Celebration of festivals sensitises them to multiple traditions and cultures.

The primary curriculum encourages inquiry and exploration, and develops children’s competence in various skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, problem-solving, observation, measurement and use of information and communication technology.

Equal emphasis is given to individual, small group and whole-group activities, to improve children’s ability to work across all levels. Physical Education develops sports skills and creates health awareness. Special classes for dance, fine arts, western and Indian music, Gita chanting, roller skating etc. promote overall development of students. Students are encouraged to participate in inter-house cultural and sports events. Active learning techniques like free play, dramatisation, puppetry, singing, dancing and cooking enhance their interest in learning. Book, newspaper and magazine reading activities conducted at the library increase children’s awareness of the world.

Keeping this in view, we provide the lush green sprawling campus including playground with basketball, football and lawn tennis court.
The qualified trainers assist the students in a wide range of sports and games facilities like kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket, skating, athletics etc. A multipurpose hall with indoor game facilities like table tennis, carrom, chess etc. is our speciality. Regular after school coaching is offered for all the team games.

MUSIC & DANCE

Music gives soul to universe, wings to mind, flight to imagination and life to everything. Music is important because rhythm and harmony find their way into the soul. Keeping this in mind, music classes are an integral part of our curriculum. Special facility for vocal and instrumental classes is being imparted to the interested students, after the school hours.


Dance is the best form of communication between body and soul. It has physical and mental benefits. It gives agility to the body and improves mental sharpness.Truest expression of people can be judged through their dance as it expresses one’s feelings in a productive manner and releases stress and relaxes the body. So the students are given training for classical, folk and western dance forms.

ART & CRAFT

Art is a popular subject that encourages students to explore and develop their creative potential. It encourages students to appreciate the world of shape and colours around them and express their creativity in an enjoyable way. The art room in the school has an excellent facility for painting, sculpture and fabric designing.
